When I was growing up my grandmother was really into home decor. I used to always go shopping with her to buy curtains, towels, and frilly, fancy duvets with satin and lace trim. I didn’t understand as a child, but now that I’m grown, I share that appreciation in some ways. I don’t think I’ve ever owned a duvet in my adult life; and I’m really excited about the set I just bought from Target. I love the idea that I can put one of my other comforters inside the duvet and immediately have a new style of bedroom decor. And it’s a reversible duvet cover, so I can just flip it over when I want a different aesthetic. Such an easy way to switch up my decor vibe.
The sheets and pillowcases are actually kind of expensive at Target, but I love their bedding and have gotten all my comforters from there. They have so many different styles to choose from and the quality is really good for the price, especially when there’s a sale. I usually buy tan, navy blue or black comforters and pair them with brightly colored sheets for my bedroom decor. But this summer I decided to create a midsummer home decor color palette of maroon and peach. It’s nice that even though the print on each side is totally different, the peach and maroon are reflected on both, so when the other print peeks out from the corners of the duvet it still looks nice.
I don’t update my bedroom very often, I tend to have the same decor for several years. I think I’m going to start buying duvets every couple of years instead of comforters.
