Whew, it’s March! One of my favorite things about this month is that it’s almost spring. My Instagram is already becoming lit with all the spring flower feels. I’ve been getting tons of wear out of my fall and winter stuff this year because of rain. I don’t think LA County has seen this much rain since the 1990s. I don’t mind it; the flowers that bloom after it rains are worth the storms.
And because I’m basically a plant with more complicated emotions, pre-spring means I am ready to brighten up my wardrobe. It’s that weird time of year where it’s not hot outside quite yet. It’s mostly overcast, sometimes partly cloudy, if it’s not full out raining. Mother Nature seems to be at her most fickle during spring in LA. In one moment it will be sunny, clear, and crisp, but it will get cold on you in an instant. So during this time of year, I’m dressing for winter, but I’m also dressing for spring. I wear things that keep me warm when I need to be, and cool when I need to be. That means layers – tanks or camis under tees and sweaters, sweaters and cardigans over blouses, and tights under dresses and skirts.
