Happy New Year! How was your New Year’s Eve? Things were chill on my end – honey bear and I ate jambalaya, drank margaritas, and binge-watched Cops and Drunk History until we fell asleep (which was about 1.5 hours before the ball dropped). We are possibly the oldest 30-somethings in Los Angeles county, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Honey bear and I made new year goals on NYE, but for me 2016’s goals are basically edited/revised versions of the 2015 goals that were never accomplished. I experienced a few disappointments last year that showed me that my plans and goals are simply a wish list, because the universe has her own plan that can supersede mine. I learned to make margaritas with the lemons that life gave me, achieving greater peace of mind as I began to see manifestations in positive directions.
One of those manifestations appeared on new year’s eve eve, when I received an offer to begin a contract gig starting on Monday. While it’s only temporary, it will hold me over for a few months while I focus on securing longer term employment and growing my personal projects. I’m looking forward to an even better commute, a great location near great food and shopping, and the opportunity to meet new people and work on new projects.
Toast to 2016!
