How many times have you set goals at the beginning of the year, only to look up 364 days later to see most of them unreached? There are ways to achieve your goals you set for yourself, without biting off more than you can chew.
Here are 6 ways to get closer to your dreams in 2017:
- Have at least one goal that gives you butterflies.
Having big, audacious goals allows you to dream. The audacity to dream can lead to unexpected, amazing paths, experiences, and connections. If your aspirations don’t scare you a little bit, make them bigger!
2. Write quarterly goals.
Having quarterly goals makes them more achievable. Planning goals by the quarter provides deadlines and due dates to accomplish them. Having a time frame in which you will accomplish your goals increase the likelihood that they will be reached.
3. Be open minded.
Let go of expectations and how things will happen. Doing so will save you from worry and anxiety. What you think you want and the creator’s great life plan for you may be different things. Keep your mind and intuition open as you pursue your path, to stay aligned with your purpose.
4. Remain grateful.
Always know that the universe is working in your favor, even when it feels like everything is going awry. It is difficult to channel gratitude in moments of darkness. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The pain is temporary and it won’t last forever. Keep the faith; there is someone out there with less than you, happier than you. Be thankful for what you have and where you are right now.
5. Allow yourself time to achieve your goals.
You probably won’t knock every goal off your resolution list by December 31, 2017. And that’s ok. Just roll it over into next year if you still want to do it. Or just scrap it. You might decide that old goal isn’t worth pursuing anymore.
6. Don’t be afraid to scrap the list and start over.
Goals change. A lot can happen in twelve months – by December you might not want the same things you wanted in January. Life is dynamic and meant to be edited, altered, and rewritten. Create and re-create yourself as needed!
